The Noun Project
There are so many unique ways that people express themselves through symbols and icons. Icons and symbols can be found everywhere. Whether its No Smoking symbol, or something like the Nike logo, icons create a visual way for people to communicate an idea. When you look and an icon you should be able to know exactly what it means.
The Noun Project is a grass-roots organization that allows users to upload their own icons. Creativity and tecnical abilities are going to be needed for this project, as you will have to design a icon that hasn't been done yet! PROPERLY ALIGNED
Shapes in your icons' designs should be aligned correctly within it.

Consistent styleStick to one design style. Whether that is something with just the outline, filled in or hand-drawn, it's up to you.
CONSISTENT SPACING
Shapes used in your icons' designs should be spaced evenly.
CONTAIN WITH A PURPOSE
Only use shapes to contain your icon (circles, squares etc.) if it helps communicate the noun, idea, or concept.

Properly connectedYour icons' shapes and lines should be connected and merged.
CLEAN SHAPES
Your icons should be clean and have no excess vector points, unless done in a hand-drawn style.
