Self - Portrait ProjectThe self-portrait is a very important part of art and design. Most of the time, students are afraid to work in a self-portrait format because they either lack confidence, or they feel discomfort in their own appearance. This project is going to work through any insecurities or anxieties you might have as well as help get your Photoshop skills up to date! This digital self-portrait is a composition that starts with choosing a photo of yourself and includes layers of images that describe and express who you are. You have control over how realistic or how abstract your portrait is and can add effects and filters to change the way your portrait looks. Step #1: Choosing a strong self-portrait.
Example of Possible ProcessWRITE-UPWhen you have worked on your assignment until it has a FINISHED quality to it, you need to save your PS as a JPEG. CLICK HERE to see how to save your work as a JPEG. Then log onto your website portfolio. Go to your DIGITAL SELF-PORTRAIT page. Upload your work onto this new page. Then using the text box, complete a write-up. A write-up is like a critique on how you think you did. Critiques are tools artists and designers use to be more consciously aware of their work, and as a way to improve. Your reflection must be a paragraph (5-8 sentences) that comments on how you think you did. This is a SELF- critique so you need to do this independently.
